Pig "Tales" and Pajamas

Pig Tales and Pajamas--2009

Monday, December 7th, 6 PM (no registration)

Ages 3 and Under (w/caregivers)

Party like a pig in your PJs--Minus the mud, of course! Tons of piggy fun!

 

Same program at branches...but for family instead...branch books/activities denoted by asterisk (*)

 

Books:          Can You Make a Piggy Giggle? Linda Ashman

                    Piggies Audrey Wood

*Case Closed?! by Judy Obrist (didn't use, nobody showed at Caledonia)

*Pig Who Wished by Joyce Dunbar (used at LaRue)

*The Mystery of Eatum Hall (didn't use, noboby showed at Caledonia)

*If You Give A Pig A Pancake by Laura Numeroff (used at LaRue)

 

Activities:     "Piggy Pokey" (Sue Eilers and Mary Marshall) tune, Hokey Pokey

                         You put your trotter in, you put your trotter out,

                         You put your trotter in, and you shake it all about.

                         You do the piggy pokey, as you roll around the mud.

                         That's what it's all about.

 

                         You put your pink snout in...

                         You put your curly tail in...

                         You put your piggy self in...

                              NOTE: a trotter is a pig's hoof

 

                    "This Little Pig" (traditional)

                         This little piggy went to market.

                         This little piggy stayed home.

                         This little piggy had roast beef.

                         This little piggy had none.

                         And, this little piggy cried, "Wee, wee, wee, wee!"

                         All the way home.

 

                    "To Market, To Market" (CD; Toddler Favorites, w/shaky eggs)

 

Craft/Snack:     Pig Cookies

                       Need: soft sugar cookies, pink icing/frosting, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, marshmallows

                       cut in half, pink wafer cookies (Idea from Taste of Home:

*Craft at LaRue: Door Hangers (foam cutout craft)

 

Door Prize: Stuffed pig (from Kohl's--$5, from Numeroff's pig books)

 

Other: Set up a little area for the parents to take their children's picture see here

 

15 kids/20 Adults

 

(5 kids came to LaRue program, 0 at Caledonia-probably Christmas Break caused this, 0 Prospect--cancelled due to weather)

 

Pig Out Pajama Party--2002

Friday, February 8th, 8:30 PM--9:30 PM

All Ages, registration required

Wear your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and enjoy "piggy" stories, crafts and a bedtime snack

 

Registered 90 kids/64 adults; 55 kids/45 adults came

Served 1.5 sheet cakes and pink punch

Divided groups: 4 and under, 5 and up (for stories)

Came together in the dept. for songs: PORKY (Tune: bingo), Higgy Piggy (Tune: Hokey Pokey)

Craft: Piggy Bank w/styrofoam bowl and plate

Door Prizes-by age: Piggy w/board book, Stuffed piggy, glass piggy bank

 

 

Piggy Pajama Party--2007

Thursday, February 22nd, 6:30 PM

All Ages, registration required

Join us for fun piggy stories, songs, and a craft. You can even wear you PJs!
