Activities:     "Piggy Pokey" (Sue Eilers and Mary Marshall) tune, Hokey Pokey

You put your trotter in, you put your trotter out,

You put your trotter in, and you shake it all about.

You do the piggy pokey, as you roll around the mud.

                         That's what it's all about.

You put your pink snout in...

You put your curly tail in...

You put your piggy self in...

                              NOTE: a trotter is a pig's hoof

                    "This Little Pig" (traditional)

This little piggy went to market.

                         This little piggy stayed home.

This little piggy had roast beef.

                         This little piggy had none.

And, this little piggy cried, "Wee, wee, wee, wee!"

                         All the way home.

Pig Race - You'll need to blow up large pink balloons. With a permanent marker make piggy faces and attach curly pink ribbon to one end of each pig. Choose a starting point and an ending point for the race and mark with masking tape or cones. Divide the group into as many teams as space and materials allow for the relay race. Signal the start and the first person on each team uses a fly swatter to bat the pig to the other end and back. Make sure to have extra balloons in case any pop, but also warn them not to hit the balloons too hard.

Pass the Pig - just like Hot Potato, using a stuffed pig or pig puppet instead of a potato

"To Market, To Market" (CD; Toddler Favorites, w/shaky eggs)

"PORKY" (Sing Bingo but use Piggy or Porky instead)

"Spinning Penny" (We did this at a Piggies, Pennies, and Pajama's program) - from the Steve Spangler website: http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/spinning-penny

Good Crafts/Snacks:     Pig Cookies

Need: soft sugar cookies, pink icing/frosting, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, marshmallows

cut in half, pink wafer cookies (Idea from Taste of Home:

http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Cute-Pig-Cookies/Print.aspx )

Serve pink punch/pink cake

Piggy Bank w/styrofoam bowl and plate (I have no picture of this, it was a note from a program that I was not involved with)

Piggy bank w/oatmeal cans

Other: Set up a little area for the parents to take their children's picture see here
